The boys presented Leo with an official Far Post Coach's long sleeve, white jersey, team white Holland t-shirt & Far Post Scarf.  In return, Leo graciously gave each player a Holland pennant, KNVB sticker and key chain.  In addition, Leo also provided each and every one of them with priceless training & instruction throughout the week that they will benefit from forever....thank you Leo!!!!!

heading home.....

A quick note as we are waiting at the airport in Amsterdam waiting to board the plane.  The boys are now shopping for the very last time at the "Last Minute Shops" in the airport.

We are leaving Holland on a sunny, warm day and can't wait to hit land in Boston.  Although tired, the boys thoroughly enjoyed their time in Holland but are all looking forward to getting home and sleeping in their own beds.

See you all soon!

our last day.....

We started the day with 19 "healthy" boys and are maintaining that status quo!!!!!  We are very hopeful that it will remain that way for your trip home.

The boys began their day with breakfast at the Hostel in Maastricht and then left for their last training with Leo.  They trained from 9:30-11:30 and then headed back for a quick lunch before leaving to pick the girls team up in Valkenswaard.  We then did get the chance to visit the PSV Fan Shop for a quick shopping spree. It's amazing how much money can be spent in the 20 minutes allotted for this side trip on our way back to Amsterdam!

We arrived at 4:15 at the stadium for the evenings games.  The boys were able to watch the first half of the girls game before warmup for their 6 pm game.  Congratulations to the girls for their 2-1 victory.  The boys played ASC Waterwijk in Almere/Amsterdam.  They were a superior team with tons of speed, skill, size and athleticism.  The boys fell 7-0.  The team as well as the parents welcomed us into their Cantina where they enjoyed some drinks, french fries and conversation.

After 8 trainings sessions and 4 games, we just wanted to let you know that the boys will be exhausted upon arrival back in Vermont.

Throughout the week, the boys received many compliments from the hotels, hostels and groups that we encountered.  They all said what a very nice and polite group of boys.

We will send a text once we arrive in Boston and are heading back on the bus.  The flight is scheduled to arrive in Boston  at 6:35 and we are hoping to be on the bus by 8 pm.

MVV Maastricht D1

We came in contact with our best opponent so far since being in Holland.  We played the U13 MVV Maastricht Premier Team D1.  Our boys seemed bothered by their size and age and had a tough time getting over the fact that we were playing a team a year younger.  Well, they were strong and we were frustrated.  We had some good chances but could not score.  Alden made some nice saves off of corner kicks.....using the punching technique.  We ended up losing the match 0-1.

We came back to the hostel and enjoyed a wonderful barbecue cooked by chefs Todd and Kevin.  Great setting overlooking the river at sunset!

Training in the morning and heading north to Amsterdam for 6:00 match.

Later for now.....
